Hello Everyone, thank you so much to all the people who attended the conference March 23-26th, 2010.  From all the feedback I got it was a smashing success and something to which they would come again.

First of all, our Guest Speaker on the first day, Frank Austen or Manyhorses as he’s known, set the tone for the rest of the next 2 days.  He spoke clearly and simply on the concepts of the Path to Absolute Truth by following the traditional trail.  Everyone who heard him and most of us were First Nation felt so reassured and wonderful that our own traditional teachings could give us such a good basis to walk  the Path of life.

Every single workshop worked out to people’s satisfaction.

Each of the workshops for the different healers were filled in the afternoon and dropped off slightly for the evening sessions.  People were sometimes startled in the Crystals workshop when the Presenter, Dr. Anne McMurtry would pass on messages to the people regarding their particular situation.  Merle Williams, presenting the CranioSacral Therapy and Traditional Healing workshop impressed people with her story about how she got her gifts and why she continues this work.  Mahara Brenna who did the Breathwork to Change and Release Emotions guided groups of 12 or more people through this process.  Many people said they so needed to do the release work and were grateful to have an opportunity to do this work.  Verl Morningstar inspired more than one person about learning Reflexology, that it is a type of healing as well as putting her in a position to talk to people about issues they are facing.  Richard Bull, teaching about Hypnotherapy and its uses put people through such a wonderful, relaxation exercise that everyone came back the next day and talked about how well they slept that night.  Elly Roselle of Core Belief Engineering had many people fascinated with process and her stories about how it has helped many people with different emotional issues.  Frank, Adam Dreamhealer’s father inspired everyone with the story of his gifted son and opened up people’s minds to the concept of Energy Healing.

One of the best comments I heard was from someone from N’Quatqua FN based in D’Arcy north of Pemberton.  He was the Wellness worker for his community and he said “I came with a lot of questions and they have all been answered.” The most common  comment was that these types of ‘healing workshops’ are needed in every community.

Second conference planning has begun

Everyone wrote on their assessment sheet they would come to the next one.  So, with those comments and guidance Aboriginal Conferences will be putting on another ‘healing workshop’ in the fall but this one will be primarily for the Residential School survivors.

It will likely be held in Prince George which is more central for many of the small bands up North.  An email will be sent to all attendees of the March conference as well as to all First Nations once the Presenter line-up is firmed up.  If you have ideas on people with healing abilities whom you think would be useful at this type of conference give them the email address on our website so they can send their resume to: abconferences@gmail.com.

I realize the issues in the community can some times bring us down and get us feeling blue again but try and go back to the good feelings you got from this conference and remember that you can’t change anyone but Yourself.  Changing Yourself to be more peaceful helps other people and sometimes that is the only way to bring about change.  Working on ourselves shows respect for our Self and with time brings respect from the community.

I wish you all a wonderful summer.  Don’t forget the Spiritual Gathering in Lillooet this August.  Check once a month on this website about new workshops and conferences coming up.

Love to all and In the Spirit of Growth toward Oneness,

Lulla Sierra Johns, Conference Organizer
